Virginia has declared a state of emergency after this violent Nazi rally (PICTURES/VIDEO)

White supremacists just marched through Charlottesville in one of the largest racist rallies in the last decade. The event featured mostly young white men chanting such phrases as “blood and soil,” “you will not replace us,” and “white lives matter.”

The event took place both Friday night and Saturday morning in protest of a scheduled removal of a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee from Emancipation Park (formerly Lee Park). Counter-protesters also arrived in at least equal numbers, and the two sides frequently clashed.

Counter protesters and pedestrians were also run over, apparently intentionally.

The police maintained a heavy presence, and eventually the number of violent confrontations grew to such a level that Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe declared a state of emergency, blaming “mostly out-of-state protesters.”

“I am disgusted by the hatred, bigotry and violence these protesters have brought to our state over the past 24 hours,” McAuliffe said.

The rally was eventually shut down by police before its scheduled noon start time. Police were accused by many attendees as being too lenient with the many violent outbreaks that occurred.

While President Trump did condemn “all that hate stands for,” tweeting “charlottesville sad!” Trump was also a very popular figure among the white supremacists.

One bright point: Famously-punchable Nazi Richard Spencer was maced and briefly arrested.

Major public officials from both the left and the right condemned the demonstrations.

To ensure that these white supremacist efforts truly backfire, here is a list of Charlottesville-based nonprofits which regularly stand against their fanatical, white-male-only agenda.
