Trump just tweeted a disgusting attack on a Democratic Congressman

President Donald Trump traded jabs on Twitter with a Democratic lawmaker Monday morning, as the president appeared to spend his morning watching Fox News.

Trump’s morning Twitter tirade began with an attack on Democrats who support universal healthcare, followed by a tweet thanking Fox and Friends for “exposing the truth” and being “soooo much better” than its competition. But then he set his sights on Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff of California, giving him the nickname “Little Adam Schiff.”

Schiff is the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee and has frequently criticized the Trump administration. Schiff also spoke out against the questionable memo alleging FBI surveillance abuse against Trump campaign officials crafted by his Republican colleagues on the Committee — Schiff has even pushed for the release of a related memo crafted by Democratic Committee members.

Trump said that Schiff was “one of the biggest liars” in Washington and blamed him for being behind leaks of classified information.

“Little Adam Schiff, who is desperate to run for higher office, is one of the biggest liars and leakers in Washington, right up there with Comey, Warner, Brennan and Clapper!” Trump tweeted. “Adam leaves closed committee hearings to illegally leak confidential information. Must be stopped!”

In attacking Schiff, Trump also attacked former FBI Director James Comey, Democratic Senator and Senate Intelligence Committee Vice Chairman Mark Warner, former CIA Director John Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. Trump has also previously accused Schiff of leaving meetings to “leak confidential information.”

Schiff fired back on Twitter that the president was spreading “false smears” and criticized Trump’s apparent television habits.

“Mr. President, I see you’ve had a busy morning of ‘Executive Time,'” Schiff tweeted. “Instead of tweeting false smears, the American people would appreciate it if you turned off the TV and helped solve the funding crisis, protected Dreamers or…really anything else.”

Interestingly enough, a follow-up tweet from Trump reiterated that any deal on DACA that would keep Dreamers protected from deportation must include financial support for a border wall.

Trump later heaped praise on House Intel Committee Chairman Devin Nunes — who created the controversial memo — calling him a “Great American Hero,” even though many Republicans have said that the memo does not “totally vindicate” Trump, as he has claimed.
