In response to the deadly terrorist attack at a mosque in Egypt that killed 235 people on Friday, President Donald Trump first condemned the attack in a tweet and called for military action in response. But it was his next tweet that had people scratching their heads.
In the follow-up tweet, Trump said he would call the president of Egypt, Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, to discuss the matter, and urged support for his border wall with Mexico and his travel ban on Muslims.
“Will be calling the President of Egypt in a short while to discuss the tragic terrorist attack, with so much loss of life,” Trump said on Twitter. “We have to get TOUGHER AND SMARTER than ever before, and we will. Need the WALL, need the BAN! God bless the people of Egypt.”
Horrible and cowardly terrorist attack on innocent and defenseless worshipers in Egypt. The world cannot tolerate terrorism, we must defeat them militarily and discredit the extremist ideology that forms the basis of their existence!

Right. Because a border wall between Mexico and the U.S. — one that no one in Mexico is going to pay for and for which there is no room in the U.S. budget — will address terrorism in Egypt. And a legally dubious travel ban on people from certain countries where Islam is the predominant religion is definitely one of the first talking points you should bring up after 235 Muslims are killed at their place of worship.
Need the wall for what? What's the wall have to do with Muslims getting attacks in Egypt?

The Friday attack in Egypt’s northern Sinai region claimed at least 235 lives and more than 100 were injured as gunmen in four off-road vehicles opened fire at a Sufi mosque where it is believed many members of the Egyptian security forces currently battling ISIS choose to worship.
