President Trump tweeted about John Podesta’s hacked emails 15 minutes after WikiLeaks asked Donald Trump Jr. to get his father to do so.
“Strongly suggest your dad tweets this link if he mentions us,” WikiLeaks wrote in a private message to Trump Jr. on October 12, 2016, with an attached link.
“Very little pick-up by the dishonest media of incredible information provided by WikiLeaks,” Trump tweeted fifteen minutes later. “So dishonest! Rigged system!”

This connection was found by Wall Street Journal reporter Byron Tau shortly after The Atlantic published a report that Trump Jr. had been privately corresponding with WikiLeaks during the 2016 election, and that WikiLeaks had asked him to spread anti-Clinton propaganda on multiple occasions.

We've now updated the story with @ByronTau's great catch: @realDonaldTrump tweeted about the release of Podesta's emails *15 minutes* after @Wikileaks wrote to @DonaldJTrumpJr about it. https://t.co/pVGEBqmB9O pic.twitter.com/pOszShJ7JY
