DC Restaurant Celebrates Flynn’s Guilty Plea With a Special Cocktail

A restaurant in Washington, DC is selling $5 “Moscow Mueller” cocktail drinks, in light of former national security adviser Micheal Flynn’s guilty plea to lying to the FBI on Friday.

After the submission of Flynn’s guilty plea, The Bird, situated in the Shaw Neighborhood in D.C., has promised to offer the special each time Special Counsel Robert Mueller presents a new indictment or guilty plea during the investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

The restaurant previously began a similar drink special, offering discounted drinks every time Donald Trump fired a senior White House official, but the restaurant’s new promotion has declared it to be “Mueller Time” in a tweet on Friday. The drink is a spin-off of the popular Moscow Mule cocktail, made from vodka, ginger beer, and lime juice, usually served in a copper mug — the choice of cocktail is a bonus twist to the clever special given the topic of Mueller’s investigation.

Bars in the D.C. area and across the country, have been creating similar politically-themed cocktails such as the “Covefefe” cocktail and the “Bad Hombre,” in an attempt to draw in customers to watch the live hearings, such as the immensely-anticipated testimony of Former FBI James Comey.
